I have tried numerous “T” card formats. While the Red Borders and 1903 sets have been well received, I have painted hundreds of players over the years that I planned to use in some format. I wanted them to be special—the best of the best. I envisioned each card encased and ready for display. To that end, INDIAN HEADS were born. The name is actually derived from my motorcycle passion and the Red Man tobacco that I still enjoy. These cards have a gold metallic frame with painted—almost cartooned—images of some of the game’s most colorful and successful players. While there are roughly 80 cards in the pre-war (1920-1940) and 80 in the post war (1941-1960), I would imagine that number eventually being around 100 in each. These measure the same size as the classic “T205” sets. We call them T209’s or Indian Heads.
There are plans to eventually offer these “pack-fresh” in actual custom Tobacco packages…stay tuned.
