The Pure Kodachrome set has been one of our favorites and most popular since the fall of 2022. It started slowly and there was a thought about abandoning it. Truth is, they were just too pretty to abandon. I set forth to make them for myself to keep in a binder while listing a few. After awhile, a few collectors took notice. There really isn’t a final number planned but should settle around 500 cards. The first card in the set is regarded as the finest Babe Ruth we have ever done— and it’s tough one to get. The Babe appears on cards #1, #130— in a world series visit— and #135 with the Braves. There are three Ted Williams cards. Number 205 is a stunning portrait from 1939, #215 is a full swing, while #351 is a farewell from 1960. There others with multiple cards—Mel Ott appears 3 times (#71, #110 and #165)…what can I say…I like Mel Ott and all three images were fantastic covering his career.

The cards have a gentle sheen, soft toning and are hand-colorized and put through our custom “Kodachrome” filter to present little works of magic that look phenomenal in a binder. It’s a walk through baseball history. The scans here might appear a little light—the cards have denser color when printed.

NOTE: There are always many of these cards from other collectors on eBay. For set building, they’re cheap to fill in the common players!
